Exhibitors sign significant deals at SGI Dubai 2018


Sign and Graphic Imaging show vows to come back bigger in its 22nd edition in January 21-23, 2019

Dubai, UAE, January 29th, 2018: International Expo Consults (IEC) part of Falak Holding, organisers of SGI Dubai 2018, stated that the exhibitors have signed several deals during the show and have also generated deals worth millions of dollars to keep the exhibitors engaged through the show. SGI is the premier exhibition for large format printing and signage industry in the Middle East and Africa region. SGi Dubai 2019, will take place from 21st to 23rd January 2019, in Za'abeel Halls 4, 5 & 6 of the Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE.


"SGI 2018 was a huge success with nearly 330 international and regional exhibitors showcasing the latest in UV printing, textile printing, retail, LED and various signage technologies. Thousands of visitors graced the show from across the globe including the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe. Cannon Middle East, Epson, Copatra Graphics, Signtrade, Masonlite, Flex-Europa, Jacky's, OKI Europe, Wellcare Infotech, Blue Rhine, Emirates Computers among several others participated in SGI Dubai 2018. Copatra Graphics was the gold sponsor for the 21st edition of the show.


Apart from the exhibition, SGI Dubai played host to various events during its three day course. 'Wall of Fame' – a creative artwork competition saw participation from many of its recurring exhibitors. Blue Rhine took the winner's trophy for Wall of Fame 2018 with its innovative glass based artwork. The runner up artwork belonged to Alpha Art, a Dubai based advertising and personalised gift and promotional material provider, while the 2nd runner up was a creative piece of printing done by Wellcare Infotech.


The other events included Knowledge Series, which included a panel discussion attended by prominent industry leaders like Ayman Aly, Sr. Marketing Manager, Canon ME; Philippe Husni, General Manager, Heliozid Oce; M. Karthik, Sales Manager, Emirates Computers; Stephen Jomartz, Regional Sales Manager, Dynagraph and Dr. Nicholas Hellmuth, FLAAR Reports who discussed the latest innovation and trends in the printing and signage industry.


As part of the exhibition, SGI Dubai partnered with Strings International and Avery Dennison to organise 'Masters of Wrap', a car wrapping competition, where car wrappers from around the area took part in competing amongst themselves to win bragging rights of the best car wrapper in the region.


"The printing industry is doing well with reports suggesting that large format printer market is expected to grow from US$8.37 billion in 2017 to US$10.59 billion by 2023. We are delighted to know that our exhibitors at the show have had a very good response from the trade visitors and were able to sign million dollar deals. This indicates that there is a huge demand within the Middle East and African markets which is set to grow bigger in the near future. We expect the 22nd edition of SGI Dubai 2019 to reflect a similar growth," said Sharif Rahman, CEO, International Expo-Consults.
